According to standard pearl grading terminology, black means a dark color, since jet black is not a natural pearl color. Dark baroque perfection. This beautiful pearl tin cup design is crafted from eleven unique multicolored peacock pearls that are meticulously stationed by hand along a shimmering sterling silver box chain. These lustrous pearls were selected for their exceptional color, luster and unique shapes. The intriguing dark coloring of these pearls mimics the natural dark colors seen in medium to dark toned silvery grey Tahitian pearls, but unlike Tahitian pearls free-form baroque freshwater pearls are 100% nacre and do not have a nucleus at their core. In other words, they're 100% pearl! Their intriguing baroque shapes formed naturally in the shell, thus they are called free-form baroque. Each pearl is unique in form, adding a layer of complexity to the design. The pearls were irradiated to create their medium-toned Tahitian-like colors; they have not been dyed and the color is permanent.
